Happy New Year!!

I imagine that being the title of millions of blogs out there!! Well, it is a new year and a new day. Although it started a bit sucky (lacking a better word) since our flight from Gulfport, MS to Akron, OH was cancelled in the middle of the night and we got up at 3:30am to be at the airport by 5:00. I did check my email before we left and then managed to get us (Paul and I) on a flight this afternoon at 5:30. The airline had us rescheduled for tomorrow afternoon...that would have really sucked!! So, at least we have one day left of our holiday vacation at home. I'm typing on my brother's computer right now while they all watch the Saints play.

Kim's memorial service was lovely. It was in a little baptist church, the same where Michael's service was held. We were all thrilled (Wendy, Chris & I) to see the church packed with so many friends of Kimmy. She was definitely loved. Kim's favorite song by Martina McBride,  In the Arms of an Angel (?) played and it became heart wrenching the second time and I (along with everyone) just sobbed. She's at peace now and I'm grateful I got to talk to her on Christmas day and tell her how much I loved her.

I'm excited to get home and start the new year! I've got a few things I'd like to concentrate on. Not really making resolutions but some observations that I'd like to focus on. I bought a Becky Higgin's core kit from her Becky Higgins' Project Life.  If you get a chance, watch the video at the bottom of the link. As soon as I get home, I'm going to set it up and I really look forward to scrapping the everyday moments. It will be more like a photo "journal" than a scrapbook. I'll still scrapbook the photos that are important to me and have a story to tell my future generations though.  I will also work on my Project Life on a weekly basis instead of daily. I want NO pressure in 2012.
Another focus I want to concentrate on is my body. I have some work to do if I want to be the MiMi to Logan and Emmy (and future grands) that I have envisioned. I need to eat better, continue to run 4 days a week but work out with some strength training on the other 3 days. I'd like to continue with my teams on  SparkPeople and track my food, exercises and weight more diligently. It's such a great website with all the teams and tools to help me stay on track. Lots of motivating and inspiring people too. One more thing I'd like to focus on would be my blog. I have to remind myself that I don't have to have pictures to hop on here and tell a story.

Some things I'd like to remember to do,

THANK MY BODY for the amazing things it does for me.
THINK BACK to the past and learn from the experiences I've had.
BE PRESENT in the moment and BE KIND to myself.
LOOK FORWARD to being the best I can be.
Treat EVERYDAY as the gift it is...EVERYDAY.
