What a Blessed Day

27 years ago today, my baby girl came into the world. I remember having contractions while sitting at the dining room table, working on a crossed stitch picture of a lady in a rocking chair holding a baby in her arms. Underneath was a poem:
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait til tomorrow,
For babies grow up, I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep

Brings tears to my eyes to type that. She was a beautiful baby but she wasn't the happiest so she was nicknamed "Crabola" and now she proudly displays that on her license plate LOL!
What a blessed day that was and what a blessing she has been!

Valentine Tea and Emmy in her hat

I forgot to post about the Valentine Tea we went to on February 11! Sue, Dory, Jenn & I went to a Tea put on  by the Elyria Historical Society commemorating the Titanic. It really was fun!

They had a speaker who did a wonderful job taking us back to the time of the Titanic with her whimsical descriptions and animated single person re-enactment of what it was like the day of the sinking. She actually sounded like she was there!
The food was delicious! Little yummie finger sandwiches, delightful pastries and tea...lots of tea!

I gave Emmy her hat yesterday and she loves it!! I did manage to get a couple of pictures of her wearing it although they turned out a bit blurry. I should have changed the lens on my D90 instead of using the p&s. Oh well, it's not like I can't take more pics if I want.

Ta-da!

Well, today turned out to be a great day! Eric told me last night that he and the kids didn't have school today so I've been working for about 4 hours (in between laundry and running to the office) on Emmy's Dead Fish Hat. I finished it!

I'm pretty excited about it and I think Emmy will be too. Of course Winston (in the background of last picture) thinks I'm nuts for taking pictures of odd things...like Dead Fish Hats.

Lots to do...

What a week! Watched the kids everyday. Usually I have Tuesday's to myself to get caught up with things but I had Emmy at 10:00. Paul did pick up the kids from school so I could go into work. Logan was sick yesterday so he didn't go to school at all.
I'm looking forward to running this morning..first time all week.
I have all the wallpaper down in the main bath-thanks to Paul. This weekend..no, Saturday I plan on painting it. Sunday is scrap day! I hope. I know it sounds terrible but I hope Sunday is rainy and/or gloomy and then I like spending the day in the basement. For some reason, when the sun is shining I have a really hard time going downstairs and getting creative.
Almost done with Emmy's Dead Fish Hat! Can't wait. She's excited too.
So many things I want to do and not enough time. I might make appointments in my datebook just to get some time to do things I want to do. Like a half hour sorting photos on my computer-I have a couple thousand that still need to be done. Half hour scrapping. Half hour cleaning, half hour playing Words With Friends, half hour on Pinterest (impossible! I can't be on there for less than an hour), half hour knitting, an hour at work, an hour cooking dinner, an hour catching up with shows recorded downstairs..which could be done while knitting, hour reading, an hour and a half to run and shower. Hmmm, I might have to make a list of appointments!
Well, I better run to run!

Baking with Logan

I finished a layout today I've been meaning to get to. I love these pictures of Logan baking Christmas cookies..or rather helping me bake em! And he was a big help too, pealing the little foil off the chocolate kisses. I love the look on his face enjoying the fruit of his efforts!

I am in love with doodlebug designs. The cute little candy cane paper and the sparkly stickers are both from them. So fun and whimsical!

Logan's Dead Fish Hat

Whoo Hoo!! I did it. Took about 3 weeks and I finished Logan's Dead Fish Hat today. He wanted a green one. Here it is....

Hmmm, Sunday

Well, it's Super Bowl Sunday! I've spent a good portion of the morning sorting photos on my ehd and folders on my laptop. I hope to have all the photos I have on CD's copied onto new CD's and stored at Paul's work. That way if anything (God forbid) like a fire or computer crash wipes out all my photos, I'll have back ups. I know it sounds a little paranoid but my sister Wendy lost ALL her photos (and she has 3 kids) in Hurricane Katrina so I know first hand how all those memories can be gone in a flash.
I'm almost done with Logan's dead fish hat and I'll start on Emmy's later today. I'm pretty excited about them and his looks really cute. I'll post pics when I'm done.
Paul's going over to Eric's for a Super Bowl Party but I'm going to stick around here and get crafty. I have some episodes of "Hot in Cleveland" on the dvr downstairs that I'd like to get caught up on too.
So, that's it for now.

Taco Bell was behind latest salmonella outbreak, Oklahoma says

Yep, now I know for sure why I was so sick on January 19th. I was the only one in my house that got sick and the only one that ate Taco Bell. I'm so sad that I can't imagine eating there ever again and I loved their food, or the taste of it anyway. :(

Thank you to my sister Wendy for the link.
