I was featured!

Happy Saturday!

I'm playing in my craft room with photos today and came across this screenshot I took. I bought the yarn for this shawl at this shop Four Purls in Florida and they post a newsletter once a week or so. At the bottom of the newsletter they give shout outs to peeps who've knitted or crocheted something using their yarn.

My screenshot is a bit hard to read but it says "Valerie finished the Coco Rosie Rescue Shawl! She used Emma's Yarn kit in the color Malibu"

Anyone who knows me knows I love anything to do with the water or ocean so when I saw the colorway was Malibu, I knew that's what I wanted to use.

I was pretty excited to be featured in their newsletter. The shawl was fun and the yarn was really nice to knit with.
I love the names of the different colors.

Here's some more photos of the completed shawl..

Notice the paw prints?

As always...thanks for stopping by.

Our Finished Basement

Our house is finally feeling like a home. We have cleared up ALL the problems, everything from plumbing, paint, appliances, flooring and outside. Right now we're just putting the final touches on the basement finishing. Here's some pics..

This was taken right before we got the pool table put back together.

We love the bar!

Genny on Tap we got from Bev & Tom

I chose gray for the felt this time. Not only was the black a PITA to keep clean, the gray goes well with the red couches. O.H.I.O.

We put in a half bath which is plumbed under the floor to the left for a shower if the future owners decide they want that.

Okay, enough of the basement. I guess I'm just excited because I'm pretty sure that's the last of the projects around here. After 2 years of projects, I'm ready to be done.

As Always..thanks for stopping by.

Meet Oreo!

It's been so long since I've blogged I don't think I've said anything about our new addition. In October of last year we decided to get a dog. We've always had a dog, so after losing Bentley 18 months ago, we got the itch. Paul, Jenn, Dan and I went to an outdoor craft show and Jenn & I ran into a lady with a miniature schnauzer. Cutest thing!! Paul and I had a miniature schnauzer back in the 80's and my mom used to breed them so we knew they didn't shed.
So I started searching online and came across a breeder who breeds schnauzers, poodles and Schnoodles! I'd never heard of a Schnoodle before. I discovered they're a mix of a poodle and a schnauzer and this breeder recently had a litter of them! The mom was a 9 lb miniature schnauzer and the dad was a 6 lb miniature poodle. With my skin issues I need a small dog so the shelter isn't an option for us (although I did search the local shelters for a couple of months but they all said they couldn't guarantee a small dog).
We contacted the breeder and picked up our little guy on Paul's birthday, October 5th. He's so smart and LOVES everyone.
Meet Oreo..

The little white stripe on his back is why we named him Oreo.

I have a feeling Ethan and Oreo are going to be great friends!

Tuckered out..those widdle feet!! 😍

So those photos were all from October when he was 8-10 weeks old.

He's now 6 months and weighs 7.5 lbs. and we love him to pieces.

Loves the snow!

and loves to play catch!

He went to the groomer for the 1st time.

As always...thanks for stopping by.
