February...

Ugh! It's been months!! So, let's go back to February and try to catch up month by month.

Our little man Ethan turned a month old on the 16th. What a sweetheart he is!

And...after mourning my Toby for 6 months and realizing I can talk about him without balling my eyes out, I decided it was time to give love to another cat. This time we decided to get 2. When I called the shelter asking about a little boy kitten, the lady told me he wasn't great around kids. Well, that fell apart quickly. She said she had a little calico named Sparkles that was available. Well, I've always wanted a calico kitty. She mentioned that the kitten had become quite attached to another female kitten that was really shy. They thought Sparkles would help the other kitten socialize etc.
So, Paul and I took the drive to Fenton, MI.

We both fell in love with these 2. Took us a week or so to actually come up with names for them. As their personalities began to show, we knew the calico would be Arya, from Game Of Thrones.

Arya

And the other little doll we named Katniss, from The Hunger Games.

Katniss

Both are named after female bad asses 😁 This is the first time we've ever had females, cats or dogs.

We had a big concern with Bentley. He's sooo jealous and has a terrible time with anyone new entering the house. So, we set up the spare bedroom with some toys for Katniss and Arya, the connecting bathroom had their litter and food and water. We decided to keep them in there and gradually introduce them to Bentley.
Well, after just a few hours, we opened the door with a baby gate put in place hoping if the kittens needed to get away from Bentley they could easily hop the gate whereas Bentley could not. It went SURPRISINGLY well! Katniss was very reluctant but Arya was so curious about the house this long haired dude. He got pretty excited and is now best buds with Arya.

Jenn, Dan, Elliott and Ethan came over. Elliott got such a kick of playing with Arya. Katniss was hiding in my closet.

My baby girl turned 36!

I finished Paul's scarf. Yay!!

So the girlfriend scarf now has a new home at the Goodwill 😊

FINALLY!! After almost 5 months our bed arrived.

Before

After...YAY!! We love it!

We got snow...boo!!!

Looking at these pictures of snow if February makes me so happy we've already made our reservations, flight plans and everything for Imperial Velentin Riviera Maya next February...✈🌴🌞 I can't wait!!

So, February turned out to be a busy time. I have loads of pictures and I'll leave you with a few of those special ones. Paul will probably kill me for posting a couple of these πŸŽ€πŸ˜‚

He just looks so natural with a bow in his beard.

As always...thanks for stopping by.

It's the little things (and big)

 The little things...

It was back in April, all of a sudden my gold chain with little hearts on it that Paul bought me about 30 years ago, broke 😒.

I was so sad. And grateful though that it happened in front of me and I didn't lose it somewhere. Of course being April everywhere was shut down. So I took it to a jewelry store this past Wednesday and they called me today to say it was fixed. Only $15 and I have one of my most prized possessions back. I'm thrilled.

I love this online store..Buddha Groove and recently purchased a set of earrings. They are so pretty..

I finished a little sweater I knitted for Lottie. I hated the pattern. Originally it was for 0-3 months. A lady had altered the pattern to fit 12-18 months. I used that pattern as a test and it was too small for her in the arms. So when I made this one I made a lot larger. It's still too tight. I think I'll stick with shawls, blankets, scarves, hats and socks.

And some big things...

Jenn and Dan did a FaceTime gender reveal. IT WAS SO EXCITING!!!

I got a new car!!! I am in love πŸ’“. It's a Hyundai Palisade Limited.

Yesterday I went and got the two front windows tinted. Having a police officer for a daughter is intimidating in that process. I feel I want to go back and get the 4 a shade darker LOL.

Paul saw a raccoon in our yard with what looked like a beat up face. He thinks it may have gotten in a fight or something. I called Avon's finest and they sent an officer right out. He took it in the back (away from any kids) and shot it. He then took it away. Poor thing.

I'll leave you with some signs of the times funnies...

and this one? You got that right..

As always...thanks for stopping by..

Thankful Thursday!

 Hey-Hey,

Long time no see..like May? A lot has happened but it's Thursday and there's so much I'm thankful for...

I'm thankful for Face-Time because I get to see Elliott whenever Jenn or Dan are home for breakfast.

I'm thankful for my friends who love me enough to text me every morning (Thanks Joanie) and bring me things like fresh tomatoes from their yard (thanks Bev).

The fact that hair grows back...

Happy 2020!!!

Happy New Year!!

I'm sitting here with a f*^king throbbing crown. Something must have happened after I ate all that popcorn I had when we went to see Star Wars on Sunday. Anyway, instead of still being in the recliner, I thought I'd try to get my mind off the damn thing by blogging!

Christmas was amazing this year! The grands from VA came on Thursday after Christmas and stayed until Monday. Jenn and Dan came for the day on Friday and so did Steve. It was awesome! Did I say that already?

My tree and a couple of my favorite ornaments on it..

At Christmas Bunco we had our annual sock exchange and my good friend Joanie got the pair of socks I bought. I loved those socks. Funny thing when we exchanged gifts, SHE GAVE THEM TO ME! I LOVE them!! So I took the opportunity on the 23rd to enjoy them while watching a Hallmark movie..

Paul's 97 year old Aunt Gert passed away recently. She's been on my blog here in a few posts. She was so dear to me. She loved me and I her. She ALWAYS showed up in red nail polish and red lipstick. When she used to be at the assisted living where I volunteer, I would help paint the ladies' nails and she always loved it when I did hers. So, in honor of you Aunt Gert..πŸ’—

I do love the color! The gold is a little added festiveness!

Jessie made some collages to post (which I stole), thanks Jess...

Emmy playing with a paint set she got from Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Kathy.

Emmy got her first Wreck This Journal from us.

We went to grandpa's...

Since it's been so long that we've all been together, I really needed some family pics..

I knitted a hat!! I adore it!

We had some family and friends over to ring in the New Year. Believe me when I say, it's so much easier to stay up until midnight when you're celebrating with your peeps!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! Here's to an epic 2020!!

As always, thanks for stopping by.
