My Heart Aches

Today is a sad, very sad day for me and my family. My little sister Kim died suddenly this morning of a heart attack. She was only 48 years old and such a sweet -VERY SWEET - person. Kim would bend over backwards to help anyone in need. Kim had such a big heart! My sister Wendy and I often said she would have made a fantastic nurse as she was born a caregiver. I will miss her dearly. My heart goes out to her son Robbie. He's had to endure so much horrific sadness and loss this year. First he lost his brother Michael and then his grandma June (my mom) and now his mom Kim.

Kim is now with her son Michael and my mom & dad. Rest easy my sweet Kimmy. All my love, ALWAYS.

NYC!!!

Well what a blast NYC was!! First Wendy took me to Woodstock. What a great, fun place! I swear the people that own the little shops are the ones that were at the Woodstock concert, only now they have bad teeth and long gray hair LOL!
(Click on the photos to enlarge)

The Blues Brothers!

Lots of shoppes..Wok "N" Roll LOL!
The next day, we headed to NYC where we had tickets to see "Wicked".
We got lucky and our hotel was right across the street from the Gershwin Theater! All I can say is I now know why people see Wicked multiple times! I will definitely go again if it comes to Cleveland again!
We got a wonderful view from our hotel. Wendy scored us a room at the Hampton Inn with her points, right in the heart of the city!
What a gorgeous view from our room!
We went to the Rockefeller Center and I don't think the photos really show the size of that tree!
After 3 days (well, actually the 1st) I was hating this heavy wool coat and missing my North Face!

We also spent some time at the top of the "Rock" and got some fabulous views.

I didn't realize how HUGE Central Park is!
We went to Macy's on 34th Street. What an amazing store and a magical time to be there!! I can't describe how gorgeous the displays in the store were. The word "Believe" came alive in lights every few seconds all over the place, whether it was outside on the building or inside hanging from the ceilings! 9 floors of shopping bliss!!

We landed up in Times Square on Saturday night by accident and we were thrilled!! The lights, the sights, the sounds and the hustle and bustle of it all was so different from my little corner of the world in Ohio. An all around wonderful, fun experience that I'll never forget!

Here's a link to the Picassa album where I've posted all the pics. https://picasaweb.google.com/VLoescher/NYC?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCM60o7_zwObVqAE&feat=directlink.

The Piebald Deer is back...

just for the day..Wednesday. He was in the backyard ALL day...eating, sleeping, galloping, and just hanging around, that I found it difficult to clean and prepare for Thanksgiving..I was too busy watching him and taking pictures. I was so excited when I saw him as it's been over a year! April 2010 was when I first saw him and that was the last time too until Wednesday. I was so afraid some trigger happy hunter got him. He's grown and he now has antlers (or headgear as we call it in my house).

Jenn & Mojo!

I finally scrapped that fabulous photo I took of Mojo back in October I think it was. This is a scrap lift of my dear friend Sarah Yoo over on 2Peas. After I scrapped this page, Jenn showed me some great pictures on her iPhone of Mojo sleeping on her shoulders and cuddling up so close and cute! I don't think I'm going to get much scrappin' done this weekend or next week for that matter. I have a house to clean and try to straighten and some wallpaper in the main bath that needs to come down!

We're having a house full for Thanksgiving..just the way it should be. This time though, I vow to take pictures of the food for either scrapping or my Smash book or better yet, my Project Life I plan on starting as soon as I get it in the mail.

My sister got me this awesome Woodstock postcard when she went there this past weekend. Oh how I wish the Woodstock Fair happened 10 years later..in 1979 LOL!

Dead Fish Hat!

Okay, so many people want to see what I've been working on that I decided to post pics on my blog! A knitted hat that looks like a fish! Yep, a dead fish really. It's so darn cute and the minute Logan and Emmy saw pictures of it, they both said they wanted one. Logan wanted a green one and Emmy pink!

I got lucky and found some really nice self patterning yarn at Joann's. Here's the link to the pattern for the hat...Dead Fish Hat
