Hello Mid January..

Hi!

Now that all the Christmas decorations are stored away and we're feeling back to normal, I'm enjoying some things I haven't seen in a couple of months. One being this really cute scent warmer I got from Wendy.

Isn't it cute?!

I bought a couple of things from ED (Ellen DeGeneres) when she had an awesome sale. 40% off this sweater and a cute pair of socks. This sweater has a tiny bit of cashmere in it..I don't have anything with cashmere, I'm thrilled.

So, I bought some gorgeous yarn at a Fiber Art Show last summer. Paul was such a sweetheart to go with me. I love the yarn but I'm finding it hard to come up with a pattern that suits it.

I tried a cowl and it was just knit and purl, around and around and around. Ugh!! I didn't like it all all..so I took it apart. I found a beautiful scarf pattern with beads and cables. I won't be bored with it that's for sure!
I started it last night. These beads dangling are stitch markers, not the beads I'm adding. πŸ˜‰

For part of my Christmas present, Bev took me to the "Elvis Birthday Tribute" last Sunday. We met at Kelly's house and Bev had this spread, some of which were Elvis's favorites..

This baked Brie was amazing!!
She had little gift bags with a picture of her with each of us. Then trivia questions and we could pick an envelope..
Can Lisa get any cuter?!
Joanie LOVES lotto tickets! She's so sweet. She texts me "good morning" EVERY DAY! πŸ’•
Inside our favorite theater in Playhouse Square, Connor Palace.

Bev is such a goof!! She brought this Elvis hat πŸ˜‚

We didn't recognize any of the songs in the 2nd half so we left early and just happened to run into one of the Elvis's!
Switching gears here, Toby, after 16 1/2 years has decided he wants to drink out of the faucet. Bless his heart, he has hypothyroidism and has to have medication every day. He's super thin because of it but he's happy. That's all that matters!

Lydia and I went to the local college last Monday to sign up to use their indoor walking/running track. After that damn root canal and before that I had tendinitis in my leg (the chiropractor fixed me up after weeks of therapy), I can't wait to exercise! You don't realize how much you miss it until you CAN'T do it. 2 years ago Lydia and I were up to walking 4.5 miles a day. We're waiting to hear from LCCC with our ID numbers and then we'll start walking.
I did start Beach Body's 21 Day Fix yesterday. I'm determined to complete the 21 days this time, then I want to do LIIFT 4 and my ultimate goal is to do 80 Day Obsession. I have to be in better shape for that one though.
It felt soooo good to workout again!

Well, if you've stuck with my ramblings today, this cat lady is leaving you with a funny..

As always, thanks for stopping by.

The root canal and knitting etc...

Hey!!

So, how's it going? It's officially the second week in January I guess and I still haven't gotten all the Christmas stuff put away. Well, most of it is anyway. Still working on the big tree in the living and have one more tree down in the basement.

I'm looking forward to documenting this year again with Project Life. I still have to get caught up with the last couple of years (like every year I say that!), but the process is fun!

So, I had my appointment with the Endo doctor. Cute, young thing. Not sure if that's a good thing or not, being so young. He attempted the root canal and because of how infected it was, he had to fill it and I have to go back on the 24th for him to complete it. He did a lot of drilling and I think he cleaned out most of it but just couldn't do the final step. Keeping my fingers crossed on that.

I had the root canal on Friday. Saturday I was in so much pain I couldn't stand it. I called their office and talked to the doctor on call. My dentist had prescribed Vicodin the week before and some Penicillin. So I explained how much pain I was in and could he prescribe me some more pain meds. He was a bit snippy. I started to read the bottle of what I was prescribed and he says "I KNOW WHAT VICODIN IS". Well, I explained that I didn't know if maybe there were different types or strengths etc. πŸ˜’ He said, "well you do know I can't prescribe over the phone or electronically because of the addiction epidemic". Yes I do know and I'm sorry. So we agreed to meet at their office and he also gave me a prescription for prednisone.
So the next day Paul asked if I called their office to thank him for meeting us on a Saturday LOL! I said no, he was a dick!

On a happier note, I finished a pair of socks. These were a pain. Only because (if you knit you'll understand) the first stitch of every row was either a purl or slip purlwise. I'm glad they're done and I do like them a lot.

I went to the yarn shop and found the perfect stemless wine glass for me..I LOVE IT!!

Alright folks, thanks for tuning in! See ya next time 😊

Happy 2020!!!

Happy New Year!!

I'm sitting here with a f*^king throbbing crown. Something must have happened after I ate all that popcorn I had when we went to see Star Wars on Sunday. Anyway, instead of still being in the recliner, I thought I'd try to get my mind off the damn thing by blogging!

Christmas was amazing this year! The grands from VA came on Thursday after Christmas and stayed until Monday. Jenn and Dan came for the day on Friday and so did Steve. It was awesome! Did I say that already?

My tree and a couple of my favorite ornaments on it..

At Christmas Bunco we had our annual sock exchange and my good friend Joanie got the pair of socks I bought. I loved those socks. Funny thing when we exchanged gifts, SHE GAVE THEM TO ME! I LOVE them!! So I took the opportunity on the 23rd to enjoy them while watching a Hallmark movie..

Paul's 97 year old Aunt Gert passed away recently. She's been on my blog here in a few posts. She was so dear to me. She loved me and I her. She ALWAYS showed up in red nail polish and red lipstick. When she used to be at the assisted living where I volunteer, I would help paint the ladies' nails and she always loved it when I did hers. So, in honor of you Aunt Gert..πŸ’—

I do love the color! The gold is a little added festiveness!

Jessie made some collages to post (which I stole), thanks Jess...

Emmy playing with a paint set she got from Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Kathy.

Emmy got her first Wreck This Journal from us.

We went to grandpa's...

Since it's been so long that we've all been together, I really needed some family pics..

I knitted a hat!! I adore it!

We had some family and friends over to ring in the New Year. Believe me when I say, it's so much easier to stay up until midnight when you're celebrating with your peeps!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! Here's to an epic 2020!!

As always, thanks for stopping by.
