Time...

Today is all about time...

How I don't have enough of it. How it flies. How it tells. How it heals all wounds. Is of the essence, and how I let it slip through my fingers. I don't own my time anymore. Why? Because I let everyone else around me including poor decisions by me, take ownership of it.
I realized something had to change and made it a point to respect my time, because time is the only thing I’m given for free in this life, every day that I live ~ The Tiny Buddha
So, I've decided to take a couple of challenges from the Tiny Buddha blog and try to get some of my time back and use it wisely...or at least enjoy what I have. I do know that everyone has the same amount of time in a day, it's how we choose to use it. I remember hearing so many times in the past, when I was scrapbooking everyday (how I miss those days but vow to get them back), how someone "wished" to have time to do that. People would tell me, "man I wish I had time like you to scrap". Or, "must be nice to have all that extra time". No-I didn't have any more time than anyone else. It's just how I chose to use my precious time. Some people sit in front of a t.v. while I'm scrapping, or do yard work, or go shopping, or on a picnic, or ride a bike...it's how I chose to spend the same amount of time as everyone else, only differently. Not more time-different.

Satire Saturday!

It's pretty gloomy out there and only around 45 degrees. I think a little fun is in order...

Ummmm, Monday already??

Yep, it is. I had a lovely Mother's Day. Paul and I had Logan and Emmy Saturday night and Sunday Logan handed me a bag and said Happy Mother's Day! My hubby did good. I told him a few weeks ago..if any of the kids ask if you have any ideas for me for Mother's Day, I'd like this whimsical clock I saw. Well, here it is...
How cute is that? Love the little roll of film pendulum! LOL
I got a beautiful Pandora bracelet with a "Mom" bead and Eric and Jessie and the grands gave me a GC to "Painting with a Twist"! Like I said, it was lovely Mother's Day.

We have some beautiful little trees and bushes blooming..

I had a hilarious text conversation with Jenn the other day. I was cracking up..WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE!
I'm in gray and Jenn is in blue :)
So..I had called Mac (my stepdad in MS) a couple of weeks ago when the south was having those horrible storms to check and see if he was ok. I mentioned the ginger jars my mom had made oh about 20 years ago. She had promised me those jars and I just wanted to remind him. Well, he had no idea and he said he'd send them to me. Well, they arrived on Saturday and I'm just thrilled...giddy!

My mom hand painted them!!
Working on my new shawl. Oh it's going to be stunning!! I had to request some help online and a gentleman on FB named Richard explained to me the Lacy Edge Bind-Off technique I was struggling with...
Pretty sparkly yarn with little sequins :)
Well, as always....

Throwback Thursday...

I always felt so beautiful wearing this dress. The bodice was velvet!
It's beautiful, it's sunny and warm outside!
I had a great time on vacation last week-scrapping, knitting, shopping, decorating, cleaning - yes, can you believe I spent 2 1/2 hours one day on my laundry room?

I went to Bev's Kentucky Derby Party on Saturday and I really had a great time. Saw some peeps from my old job at Realty One, that I hadn't seen in years. Here's the little hat I made for the party...

Me and Sandy.

I had to include some photos of the fun food peeps made...

And a pic of all of us...

NSD & KDD!

That means that today is National Scrapbooking Day and Kentucky Derby Day! Yep. My friend Bev is hosting a Derby Party in honor of her mom who loved to wear hats...get it? Derby? It's cute and it will be fun. My mom loved hats too. I'm in the process of knitting a hat to wear, complete with flowers since it is Spring.

Paul's going to the Indians game with Stephen. Our Indians are once again making it difficult for fans to, well, be fans? There are literally no fans out there like Cleveland fans and our teams..The Browns and The Indians, year after year, fail to make it a "good" season for them. Last night was the Indian's first win out of 7 games. I feel kind of sorry for them..the fans-my hubby, Steve and Eric.

Aunt Gert fell the other night. She has 3 small fractures in her pelvis and I went to visit her in the hospital yesterday. She seems okay. I think I lifted her spirits some and I plan on going to see her again today.

Not much else going on except it's Spring and some of Paul's efforts are showing...

I will post pics of the Derby Party soon. I hope you have a wonderful Saturday! As always...

Throwback Thursday!

Growing up in Southern California, hanging out at marina's, wearing Vans and cords. Yep, that's me around 1971-73.
