One Little Word Update..

Hello,

Yes, this will be a OLW update. I have't kept up with my OLW and I hope to revisit it again soon, especially since I was having SO much fun with it. Trying to stay focused (which was my OLW in the past) is again hindering my progress. Not just with OLW, but that's another story for another day.

One of the prompts for February was to make a vision board. I have never, ever made one and to be honest,  I'm intimidated and always in awe of a good vision board. I used papers from Flow Magazine, Daphne's Diary and Breathe Magazine. I really love how it turned out. Now, could I make a vision board for my wall? Hmm, not sure.

The March OLW lesson was to incorporate a "practice" with your word. I decided to create some prompts to pull each day. Each prompt is related to my word RELEASE. I had the picture of the girl holding the balloon, on my computer for quite a few years, just waiting to be used.

Of course I won't post here all 31 prompts but you get the idea. This was such a fun project and I absolutely loved the practice!

The April OLW prompt was "noticing". Using my postage stamp punch, each day I punched out a photo of something I noticed and arranged it in a calendar I created in my notebook. This too was a really fun project and it got me noticing things I normally would not.

With each photo I would journal in my Daphne's Diary about it. That alone helped me notice.

May's OLW prompt was to do something fun! FUN IT WAS!! A lot of people chose to do playground things. Hopscotch, swings etc. I chose to venture into something artsy. I've been curious about Blackout Journaling for a little while now and decided to give it a try.

At first I tried it with watercolor but discovered, printed words just smear.

Page on the left says:
sitting by
a book
considering
whether
the daisies,
close by
hear
seemed quite natural.

Page on the right says:
sacred wood
on fire
appeared to dance
in
my mind
Imagine my surprise when
I clearly
discovered
I had
read it backwards
by a mere accident.

I wish I had put "fun is the assignment" at the top but I'm RELEASING that wish into the wild.

So, I only played with my OLW until May and hopefully I'll find the time to venture back to it before too long.

I recently switched up my memory keeping (again, sigh). I do realize the kids don't want those huge 12"x12" albums and I've also come to realize I only need to document MY story. Not my kids' or my grandkids. If they decide to tell their story in some manner, that is up to them. I do strongly believe everyone has a story to tell, I just decided to tell mine with pictures. I will chat about this in my next post.

As always,

Thanks for stopping by.
